The project required full excavation of an ageing concrete carriageway while maintaining access to a live 400-unit residential development, an adjacent school, and an active bus route.
At the same time, an additional live JRHT construction site was operating within the same period, all accessed via a single shared entry point, requiring careful coordination and robust traffic management throughout.
The scheme involved full reconstruction in accordance with York City Council highway specifications, with works carefully programmed during school holidays to minimise disruption.
Extensive upfront planning, detailed service identification, and proactive resident liaison ensured the works were delivered smoothly and efficiently.
The project was completed on time, within budget, and has since been formally adopted by York City Council.
