The project comprised major Section 38 and 278 works, including the full excavation and reconstruction of over 130m of live carriageway, alongside the installation of a new rising main within the spine road.
As the sole access route to a 78-unit development, maintaining safe and continuous access was critical, requiring careful coordination and ongoing liaison with both the client and residents throughout the works.
A temporary haul road was constructed to provide a diversion route, enabling the works to progress while maintaining safe access at all times.
Resident engagement was a key focus, with an open door approach to the site team allowing direct communication with both operatives and management. The programme was carefully managed and adjusted where required to accommodate specific resident needs.
Detailed planning and comprehensive service identification was carried out ahead of delivery, supported by twice-weekly coordination meetings with North Yorkshire Highways.
The scheme received highly positive feedback from residents, particularly in relation to communication and professionalism. North Yorkshire Council also commented on the professionalism and the quality of workmanship, with the site progressing directly onto maintenance at practical completion.
